Today.

Today my life hit an all time low of all time lows. It qualifies very very much into the worst day of my life. The worst day of my life. Worst ever. I'm scared to say it can't get any worse than this because I know that life will somehow creep up on you and hit you in the face when you least expected it. No matter how prepared you are.

So yes, to follow up my worst day ever is probably my worst week ever as well. I have tests tomorrow, and the day after. And an assignment due early next week. Plus another homework which I don't have any idea how to do since it's a recording homework. Like, I have to record my voice and email it to the lecturer.

My exam tomorrow is at 10a.m. but I'm so tired I don't think I can even make it.

My mom just wouldn't give me a break, would she? And here I am, feeling like a miserable depressed asshole that just never got lucky. I would maintain that I was (and am) innocent. Guilty in some ways but still innocent enough. Innocent enough to not deserve all this. Hah. Yea, if life was as simple as erasing things I just wrote. Then this world wouldn't have a purpose right?

I wish people saw how hard I tried. Then you'll know. Then she'll know. Then they'll know. All of them. All of you.

I had better study now. I'm not planning to fail my Finance paper. Or my IT paper. Or anything else for that matter. Not to prove them wrong. But for self-satisfaction. Myself.

I'll make it happen, even against the odds.

Easter!

I don't know why I'm so happy about Easter for. Well, maybe it's because of the long weekend. No classes on Friday and Monday. Nice. The only thing not nice about it is that I have tests next week!!! And skipping ISYS123 lecture isn't that nice either. Especially when the topic presented is supposed to be really important.

However, I'm not going to let those things dampen my spirits. So, holiday!! Wow. Tomorrow we're either going to the beach for a picnic or to the city to eat desserts. Yay. Sounds nice. And guess what? A certain someone's going to visit me tomorrow. Double yay. Only he'll be staying for 10 days. I think that's a little overstaying his welcome. But, whatever. At least I wouldn't have to cook for 1 for the next week or so.

Speaking of cooking, tonight I made Honey Soy Mushrooms for dinner. It was really yum! Glad I made it. I look for lots of recipes on the internet these days. There's like a whole variety to choose from, and some of them fits my budget nicely.

Speaking of budget! Reminds me. Note to self: Get a job!

I bought posters at the poster sale in uni last week. I've put them up in my room, and my room feels cozier, a lot more like home. Because it was too empty. And emptiness in my room just reminds me of the emptiness of my heart! (OK, didn't mean to maudlin here). OMG, can I live for one minute without drama?!? Guess I can't. Yes, I'm one of those girls who has a life full of drama, and alternating between two extremes.

My posters:Yup, Marilyn Monroe and Audrey Hepburn. You can see my laptop on my desk in the Hepburn picture. And the small picture next to Marilyn is the perfect thing. Julie's gift. One of her paintings that I helped her with during Form 5. Love it!!! Even my housemate said it's really nice.

Today I have new friends: Steve and Belinda. Knew them from Debbie. It's nice knowing new people. I should take pictures. Next time though. OK? I don't feel like whipping out a camera when we're eating lunch. Haha.

OK, gotta shower now. It's so late already. I guess everyone's filled with festive mood because I hear people partying outside. One of those days. I bet they'll still be partying at 4. Oh well, holiday right? Let them. It's kind of nice to hear drunken screams and shouts in the middle of the night. Someone out there is having fun!

I better get some rest now. It's pretty late. Going to the city tomorrow! No beach though... *sob* But th city's good enough. Especially in terms of food...

Land of OZ, Chapter 2

Guess what? I baked cookies last night! Chocolate chip cookies. OMG, that was soooo tiring, but when it's done, it was well worth it. My first batch got a little burnt though, but my second batch was nice enough. My friends say it's quite nice. But to me, it still needs work. The cookie dough is superb though. I feel like like eating the whole bowl instead of baking it.

Tonight I baked another few cookies. So here's one delish pic.The first batch I made today are the bigger ones. It' softer than the smaller ones. The smaller one are very crispy. I can only upload one photo as I think there's something wrong with the internet. Maybe it's just too slow. So it does look quite delicious right? Yummy.

That was the first time ever I uploaded a picture I took myself. That feels good. I've just recently got my laptop, and also my own camera! It's pink!!! The new Sony Cyber-shot with touch screen. And my laptop is the new Sony VAIO CR. The one in pink!!! With 200 GB hard disk. Super cool. I love them. Soooo much. Too bad I can't put in anymore pics. I might do it later.

So, my transition to university is still underway, even after 4 weeks of class. Some subjects I find quite easy and others, relatively hard. Or maybe I'm not working hard enough. But I'm trying to! Seriously.

One thing's improved though, as you can see. My cooking skills. Maybe I should just change courses to culinary arts. That should be interesting.

Oh, and my Spanish skills have been improving too. Si. I've been annoying people by chatting with them in Spanish. That was quite nice.

I've also been quite close with my housemates. Especially Lidya. With Phing and Nicole and Claire. They're great housemates. Probably some of the best you could ever ask for. Then there are classmates too, Debbie and Nina and a few others whom I forgot their names. Then, of course, there are my old friends here who are always fun to hang out with. But I do really miss my friends back home. I wonder if the next time we meet, will we change or still be the same? It's quite scary when you come ti think of it. We all might have moved on.

I'm still trying to click my heels and say, 'There's no place like home." But at least now I realize being stuck in the land of OZ is not that bad anymore.

I've soo got to sleep now. It's like, 2 in the morning and I've got an early class tomorrow.

The Land of OZ

Guess where I am right now. In Christine's house in the middle of the city. I came to the city at, like, 11.30 in the morning for the Maroubra Beach BBQ. Got stuck here because some people wants me to join them clubbing. I guess now I'll be going out in a few minutes. So maybe I'll try to update.

Australia turns out not to be so bad once the culture shock stops. Made some friends. Met some old ones. But that transtiton took a million events to get my mind off home, and remind myself that home's probably quite overrated anyway. That sounds easier than it seems though. So yeah. Here I am now, trying not to be homesick.

Since I've been here I've been to heaps of BBQs and a few city outings, including a Mardi Gras parade. The Mardi Gras was quite cool. I mean, there were lots of gay people. More than I've ever seen in my life. Even 5 hours before the parade starts, I see gay people everywhere I turn. Sorry for being quite 'jakun' but it's quite new to me. There are gays in Malaysia, but they're still quite in the closet. Then, 1 hour before the event starts, there were gay people going up and down the street half naked. That was.... interesting. There was even one eccentric in-a-purple-thong guy going up and down the street saying 'Happy Mardi Gras, darlin' to everyone.

The parade itself was incredibly interesting, with men and women in underwears and thongs dancing around while walking and on those moving parade thingies (what were thay called again?). There are instances where men cuts off sections of their pants or underwear to show their butts. And topless women with their partners. The whole thing is quite interesting and (surprise, surprise) informative. I mean, now I know there are whole organizations dedicated to gay counselling and gay laws and even police officers give a special mention of protecting gays and crimes towards them. Wow. They really do widely accpet it here.

You know what? I realised lately that I'm in The Land of OZ. I mean, Maybe I should just click my heel 3 times and say, "There's no place like home, there's no place like home, there's no place like home...."Nah, not working. Well, I guess I'm stuck here.

So, I'm off to go out now. I actually bought an LBD for this evening since the only thing I brought re beach wear. Actually, my friend bought it for me. Sounds nice, but it's actually just from Supre, so yea, it's like, below 20 bucks or something.

I'll try to update more often once I get my laptop ok?

Sydney

So, the week starts on a Sunday right? If that's the case, I can safely say this is probably the worst week of my life... so far. No kidding. And it's just Monday.

I'm in Australia right now. Arrived on the 13th of February (I just realised that in itself is not a very good date). My parents left me here on the 17th. Which was yesterday. The culture shock was so incredibly bad for me. And then, my mother had to go all mushy mushy on me. Which made me all mushy mushy as well.

I got to go now. Busy busy. I'll update when I have the time.

My Budget Eater

I have, like, less than 2 weeks from the day I'll be off to Aussie. I'm scared and excited. More scared, I think. Because there'll be a huge change in my life where everything about me will change except my name. And then there are preparations, which quite frankly, is not prepared yet. I still need to do a few things and to buy a whole lot of things.

I need a laptop. I understand it's trés important for academic purposes. Then I'll need a camera. I have to record my life there, for memories! (Yes, I'm influenced by July). I'll also need clothes. That's because my clothes are not really appropriate for everything there. I've got to buy some fitted sheets and stuff for my room too. And shoes!!! I need practical flats for everyday wear. And maybe a flip-flop or two. Then I'd definitely need school supplies, you know, stationaries. Pens and pencils and exams pads. Books, too. But I don't have to worry about that until I get there.

Enough material things. For non-material things, I need to polish my communication skills. I'm very unaccomplished in small talk. Well, I am taking Business after all. Then I'll need basic cooking skills. Just to make sure I won't go hungry there. Which also means I better get myself 1 or 2 recipe books. I love good food, so I'd better learn so I'd be able to eat my own cooking. And then I'll need communication. I have to look up all my friends there. Friends are essential if I'm going to survive there. And of course, I'm going to have to need to locate Sydney on a map! Yes, I still don't know where it is. And I'll have to locate my university on a map too. OK, I'm going to do that right now. OK, done. Now I know where it is on the map. Yay me! One thing done! About a million more to go. Oh, and remind me to talk to my friends who go there. I need to know how to get around and how to get to the city and where to eat and where the best places are. And if you are in Sydney, don't forget to schedule a hangout with me once I'm settled in.

Guess what? As I was searching places and things in Sydney, I found a nice vegetarian blog, reviews about vegetarian food all over Aussie. Wow. Good guide for days when halal food isn't available. I'd better bookmark it. Wait, what's the use of bookmarking it in this computer. I have to bookmark it on my laptop. Which doesn't exist - yet.

Oh and about the laptop, I'm in a small dilemma. Quite small. So, in your opinion, should I get a Sony Vaio or a Macbook? For Sony Vaio, I was thinking about the VAIO CR model. You know, the pink one? It's RM4,488. And for Macbook, the 13" wide-screen display in white. Either the RM4,800 or the RM4,000 (approximate prices). But some say the Macbook is not that user-friendly and is hell to use. I don't mind that, but I keep on thinking what I will do without my familiar programs that might not be installed in Macbook. Plus the keyboard doesn't have the PrintScreen button. I need that. Somewhat. But a Mac is still so cool to own! And then there's Dell. They have pink too and it's the cheapest so far, only RM2,799. I bet my father is going to go for this. So there's 4 laptops in consideration. I'm seriously torn. Help!

OMG, did you see the new Macbook Air??!!?? It's like sooooooo thin. Thinnest in the world, they say. Too bad it's not out locally yet. And even if it is, it'll probably be out of my budget. Damn. If not for these reasons, I'd probably own one right now.

Talking about Mac, they came out with a pink iPod Nano. I want one!! That is if I can't get an iPod touch. Or and iPhone. Did I mention my phone is becoming a little spoiled and impossible? Time to change phones. Actually, I really love this one. Didn't think I would need to change it in years. But since it's giving problems, maybe I should consider. Wow, I'd really be out of budget if I need a new phone too. I hope my phone gets better.

Especially considering I need a new wallet!

The Little Shopaholic in Me

It already is 2008 and this is my first post this year. As of now, there are a few events I missed writing about. The few events (in order of occurance):

1. Popo, Bozai and Nasya's birthday BBQ.
2. New Year's Eve.
   
3. My Birthday BBQ.
   
4. Trip to Bandung.
5. The big sleepover + slumber party.

I'm quite lazy to write about all of them actually. But they're all great. And 2008 is just staring!

Since 2008 too, I found out about the 'fake moon-landing' accusations. And I read all the arguments for and against it. I saw a few videos. Well, I don't have a conclusion just yet about what I think about it. Maybe it's true, maybe it's not. Who really knows?

I'm in the mood right now to write about my current wallet hunt. As you all know, my current Guess wallet has turned an incredibly ugly colour and I can't even close it anymore.

Seeing as I have too much cards to put in my wallet, a new criteria is that my new wallet has to be long. It's a nuisance because a long and pretty wallet is harder to find than I had anticipated.

I really want this new wallet to be of a better brand, or a different one than Guess. Hopefully better. And by 'better' I mean, more expensive.

So my wallet hunt hunt began yesterday. In Gardens. You know the new mall next to Midvalley Megamall. Love the stores there. So I tried Coach, Banana Republic, Guess, Armani Exchange, Miss Sixty and Nine West. The verdict: Coach is slightly overreaching. Didn't like anythin from Banana Republic. Nice ones in Guess but want something different. Nothing much in AX. No wallets in Miss Sixty. Found a nice one in Nine West, but was thinking of a better brand. If all else fails, I'll get the Nine West.

So the hunt'll continue end of this week, hopefully. Maybe this time I'll hit Pavillion. I've got to see Juicy Couture and Marc by Marc Jacobs (saw a nice one in their website) and a few others. Or if my mother is in a reeeaaallllllyyy good mood, I could convince her to share the price of a Coach. Although very unlikely. But just maybe I could get lucky. But I won't count on it.

Maybe my mother would go to the U.S. of A. very soon and I can get her to get me something cheap there. I also hear Coach is cheaper there. Maybe I should just wait until I get to Australia. They might have something nice with a decent price. Aussie brands are not that bad right? But please not from Supre. Well, because I need something better than Guess, right?

Any of you reading this thing, any suggestions? I'd like to have some ideas from you. Oh, and my favourite colour is pink. Just in case it isn't obvious to you. Just kidding.
